Departmental funding

The School's model for allocating non-staff departmental funding brings together two major components of departmental funding (kitties and service quotas) into a single payment. The model is based on MSL points and student number targets. Allocations from the Staff Research Fund are made to departments at the same time based on the number of staff recorded as ‘eligible’ (according to the funding guidelines).

Allocations for the year ahead are announced in September and are ‘rebalanced’ to take account of actual (rather than targeted) student enrolments in the Lent term.
