MSc Finance (part-time)
For students entering before 2008-09 academic session
Academic programme lasting two years part-time (evenings). Students must take two full unit compulsory courses in the first year and four of the half unit options available in the second year. They must submit a 6,000 word dissertation (replacing the exam) in one of the optional half unit courses and take an examination in the other three half-unit courses, OR take the half unit Dissertation course FM497 and take an examination in the other three half unit courses.

Students should select four half unit courses to the value of two full units: FM405 Fixed Income Securities and Credit Markets (H) (Dissertation code FM4U5) FM406 Topics in Portfolio Management (H) (FM4U6) FM407 Applied Financial Valuation (H) (FM4U7) FM408 Financial Engineering (H) (FM4U8) FM409 Risk Management for Financial Institutions (H) (FM4U9) FM497 Dissertation (H) In exceptional cases it may be possible to take an unlisted optional course with the approval of the Programme Director. |

Students who write a dissertation replacing the exam on one of the half-unit courses will be required to attend the teaching for that course. |
