Students without a strong background in economics are required to take the MSc programme over two years. Students who successfully complete the examinations at the end of the first year will be awarded a Diploma in Economics. In order to progress to the second year, students must gain marks of 60% or higher in each examinable course at the end of their first year. The Sub-Board of Examiners may, at its discretion, consider candidates who fall marginally short of this requirement. However, students are not entitled to re-sit examinations already passed in order to achieve the progression standard.
