Photocopying

All are black and white copiers, but colour copying is available for students in the Student's Union Copy Shop.

Photocopying costs 

4p per A4 copy
8p per A3 copy
A4 microform printing costs 4p.

Buy ONE copy card ONLY from the Copy Shop or from dispensers in the Copy Shop and the lower ground floor. It initially costs £1 (48p copying value, 52p for the card) and is valid for all LSE photocopiers and printers (applicable to external library users only) except those in the Students’ Union. Please protect your card from magnetic items, e.g. credit cards. Recharge your card at the Copy Shop or use the value loaders in the Copy Shop, Course Collection and lower ground floor.

We refund the value of copies spoiled by printer/copier malfunction, but not unused cards.

LSE staff only

Your LSE Card operates a dedicated photocopier in the lower ground floor photocopying area, as well as in the Course Collection.  It is not valid for Library PC printing, including the Electronic Information Area. (Help Desk staff can advise.) Staff colour copying is available in Reprographics.

Always observe UK copyright law

In general, copy no more than five per cent or one chapter of a book and not more than one article from any one journal issue.

Please don’t press down on book spines and take extra care with large and heavy items.

If microfilm or digital copies are available, please use them. If you need help using these, please ask the Library staff for details and prices.
