Request an Item
 

You can request a book which is on loan to another Library user. When you place your request, the person who has the book will be asked to return it within a week.

 

Note

The Catalogue record shows the number of existing requests for an item. If it has already been requested, you will join the queue.

 

 

 

 

Activity: Request an Item
 

  1. This is an optional activity you can perform if there are any items on loan that you wish to reserve. If no such items exist, go directly to the next activity.
  2. First locate the item in the Library Catalogue and display its bibliographic record.
  3. Click on the Requests and Interlending button to go to the Request Type page.
  4. Log in with your Library barcode number, PIN and last name if necessary.
  5. Choose LSE Book Request from the drop down list of Request Types. Select the type of copy you require.
  6. For security purposes you are prompted for your Library barcode number again.
  7. Click on the Submit Request button to place the request. When the copy is returned to the Library it will be held for you at the Service Counter for five days. If you opt for email notification, the Library will notify you when your request is ready for collection.
