
Locate an Item
To locate an item you have found on the Library Catalogue, make a note of the relevant information from the Bibliographic Record and use this in combination with Library guides and signs on finding your way around.
- Use the Location information in the bibliographic record to find out which Collection you need. Make a note of the Classmark and check the Loan Status before going to the shelves.
- Refer to the Floor Plans and Location Tips guide, available in the Library or on the web, to find out which floor the collection and classmark are located on.


Activity: Locate an Item
- With the bibliographic record for Freedom and its betrayal : six enemies of human liberty displayed, look at the Location information in the bibliographic record.
- Which collection is the book in and what type of publication is it?
- What is the classmark of the book?
- Using the Floor Plans and Location Tips guide, find out which floor you need to visit to find an item in this collection and with this
classmark.
- Click on the Search icon on the Library Catalogue menu bar to return to the Quick Search page.
