PC Access for Visitors to LSE Library
The Library provides a limited number of PCs for Visitors and Alumni to access online resources such as electronic journals and bibliographic databases. Please note that due to our licence agreements not all resources are available to Visitors & Alumni.
Visitors and Alumni who have received their plastic swipe cards for entering the Library may log on to these PCs directly-please ask Library staff at our Helpdesk for details of your username and password.
Visitors and Alumni who have yet to receive their plastic swipe cards should ask Library staff at our Helpdesk (situated on the First Floor of the Library) regarding access.
These PCs are designed to compliment your use of our printed materials-they do not have the full functionality of an internet cafe. No Microsoft products are available and email use is restricted.
Limited printing facilities are available. Print/photocopy cards may be purchased from the Copy Shop at a cost of £1. Cards are preloaded with 48p of credit and you can continue to top up your credit at the Copy Shop.
It is not possible to print from all the Visitor PCs, but you may save items to disc/USB stick.
Do not save any work to the desktop, as this is wiped automatically when you log off.
The Library catalogue is available to all visitors via specific catalogue terminals-you do not need to use one of the Visitor or Alumnus PCs to check the catalogue. Don't forget to check the catalogue before your visit if at all possible.
Please note that during peak periods we cannot guarantee that PCs will be available at the time of your visit to the Library. Alternative venues for PC access include:
