Finding books and journals
Use the Library Catalogue
The Library Catalogue is accessible via the Library website, or the Catalogue-dedicated computer terminals throughout the Library.
The Library Catalogue will help you:
- Find out which Library items are in stock
and out on loan
- Locate a book by title and/or author
- Place a reservation for a book out on loan
- Browse author names or particular subjects
- Check if the Library has a particular journal/periodical.
Attend a Library Catalogue training session or see the leaflet Using the Library Catalogue
Locating books and journals on the shelf
Having found your item on the Catalogue, note the classmark, which is also on the spine label of the book or journal, and location, then use the Floor plan guide to locate the item.
