Important notice - use of the LSE Electronic Resources

The software, databases, websites and other electronic resources ('Resources') accessible via the Library website (www.lse.ac.uk/library) are owned by various publishers and other third parties and are either freely available or are specifically licensed to LSE. Users may only access and use the Resources in accordance with any applicable terms of use including any relevant licence. Access to many of the resources is restricted to current LSE staff and students only. Such terms of use are either displayed as part of the relevant Resource or are available from Library staff on request.

Use of the Resources is subject to relevant legislation including copyright law. Unauthorized reproduction, lending, hiring, transmission, distribution or use of material forming part of any Resource is prohibited.

Users must comply with the terms of any licence included with a Resource or with an accompanying book/journal. Most material can be used, copied, printed or downloaded for research or private study for non-commercial purposes only.

Usernames and passwords issued to users are non-transferable. All passwords are strictly confidential and must not be divulged to anyone else.

Disclaimer of warranties and liability

LSE does not make any representations or give any warranties whatsoever as to the content, accuracy or completeness of the Resources linked to. Where users rely on any information or other material they do so entirely at their own risk and they accept that all representations, warranties, conditions or undertakings or any kind, express or implied, whether by common law, statute, trade usage, course of dealings or otherwise in respect of the Resources and the information and material contained therein are excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law.

LSE excludes all liability whatsoever, to the fullest extent permitted by law, in respect of any loss or damage resulting or arising from any unavailability or use of the Resources.

Owing to the nature of the internet, LSE cannot guarantee that any of the Resources will always be available to Users. Users who choose to access the Resources remotely should ensure that they have appropriate protection against viruses and other security arrangements in place.
