WHAT IS A COURSE PACK? Course packs are sets of essential readings chosen by your lecturer and collated by the Library, Centre for Learning Technology (CLT), Students' Union or in your department.
IS A PACK AVAILABLE FOR MY COURSE? A list of available packs can be seen on the Course packs available for 2008/09 page. The list shows electronic course packs available from CLT via the School's virtual learning environment, Moodle. It also shows paper course packs available from the Library and Students' Union Copy Shop and those for Information Systems students available from the department. If your course is not listed below please check with your tutor if a pack is available for your course.
WHAT IS IN THE PACK? Articles from journals, book chapters or law cases selected by your teacher required as class reading. Contents pages of the Library produced packs can be seen at Course packs available for 2008/09 .
HOW DO I ORDER A PACK? Library course packs need to be ordered online using the Order form for Library paper course packs. Please note each volume of a multi-volume pack will need to be ordered separately.
WHEN CAN I COLLECT MY PACK? Library produced packs will usually be ready for collection 24 hours after placing your order. Mid morning and afternoon are especially busy and you may have to queue to collect your pack. Avoid these times if possible.
HOW LONG WILL MY PACK BE RESERVED FOR? Two working days from the time it is first available. After that time you will need to re-order the pack.
WHERE DO I COLLECT THE PACK? The service counter on the Librarys Ground Floor.
HOW MUCH WILL THE PACK COST? The cost of the pack varies depending on the number of articles in the pack and if the articles need copyright permissions to be paid. The Library has paid these fees on your behalf but we do unfortunately have to pass these costs on to you. We work very hard to make sure the packs are as cheap as possible - we do not make a profit from the service.
HOW CAN I PAY? We accept cash, debit or credit cards with the exception of American Express. If your card is PIN enabled you will need to use the PIN to complete the transaction as we cannot accept your signature as verification.
MULTI-VOLUME OR MIXED FORMAT PACKS Some teachers request large number readings that necessitate creating a multi-volume pack. Each is sold separately and need not be purchased at the same time. Teachers might also ask for some of the reading to be included in an e-pack and some to be in a paper pack depending on the way they want to use the readings in their course.
REFUNDS We do not offer refunds if you change your mind about your pack after purchase. Please check the pack is the one you requested at the time of purchase. Different rules apply to packs produced for postgraduate students in the Economics Department. Please contact us at Library.Teaching.Support@lse.ac.uk .
REPLACEMENT PACKS We print course packs throughout the academic year. Please re-order your pack online. We are unable to replace the pack free of charge.
PART TIME STUDENTS Please order your course pack to coincide with a day when you will on campus. Packs will not be held any longer than two days (please see over).
