Filming and photography in the Library

Page contents > Availability | Cost

The Library of the London School of Economics and Political Science has been redeveloped to award winning standards by leading architects Foster and Partners. We can offer the film maker and photographer a stunning location with a variety of backdrops with or without reference to its academic purpose.

  • A light-filled atrium and spiral stepped ramp culminate in an impressive glass dome at the top.
  • The architects mapped the path of the sun to achieve maximum daylight.
  • A light-reflecting panel on the roof helps direct sunlight down too.
  • The Lower Ground floor is a light, double-height space.
  • As an example of a modern academic environment it offers a striking balance between print and electronic information resources, with 500 IT workstations
  • 50km of shelving containing over four million printed volumes.
