Audio tour

Not to be outdone by London's art galleries or stately homes, the Library offers an audio tour too.

There are two ways of listening to this – either using the handsets available in the Library or by downloading the podcast. The tour offers a relaxed way for new users to get to know the Library's layout and facilities. Even if you have used the Library before you can refresh your Library knowledge too. Both offer a distinct and complimentary introduction to the library.

Developed with expert suppliers, Acoustiguide, the tours are very user-friendly, providing top quality sound.

Audio tour handsets are available from the Service Counter. There is also an option to listen to a more detailed tour which lasts for about 60 minutes. Users can also opt to hear various additional sections depending on time available or areas of interest.

The Podcast is in MP3 format, and can be played on any MP3 player and many mobile phones. Like the audio tour, users can listen in as much detail as is convenient selecting the tracks that are of most interest. Please listen to the sample audio of the tour which explains how the tour will work.

Both the audio tour and the podcast are completely free, although please ensure you have your Library membership Card in order to pick up the handset for the audio tour.
