Your telephone forms part of a computer
controlled exchange which is capable of providing a very extensive range of time
saving facilities .
Ring Tones
- An incoming exchange line has two short rings followed by a
break (similar to your domestic ring tone)
- An incoming internal call has one long ring followed by a
break
To Transfer a call
This facility allows you to transfer a call to another
extension within the School.
- Tell the caller you are about to transfer them
- Press the Recall button to receive a dial tone
- Dial the number of the extension you wish the call to be
forwarded to
- When the person answers the call, inform them you have a
call for them and hang up
- If the extension you dialled is busy or not answered you may
return to the original caller by pressing Recall *1
Enquiry Call
This allows you to place a caller on hold while you make
some enquires from a member of staff elsewhere in the School.
- Tell the caller to hold
- Press the Recall button to receive a dial tone
- Dial the number of the extension you wish the call to be
forwarded to
- When the person answers the call, make the necessary enquiry
.
- To reconnect the original caller press Recall *1
Call Holding
Places a caller on hold so that they cannot hear the
conversations you may wish to have with other members of your office.
- Tell the caller to hold
- Press the Recall button to receive a dial tone
- Dial *9 , you will hear a switching to indicate that
the caller is on hold.
- You can now replace the receiver
- You have 75 seconds to re-establish the call before your
phone automatically rings.
- To reconnect to the original caller lift the handset and
press *1
Conference Call
A conference call enables up to six telephone users to
speak to each other at one time.
- Call the first person you wish to include in the conference
- Press the Recall button to receive a dial tone and
dial the number (internal or external) of the party to be added
- Inform the person they are about to join a conference call
- Press the Recall button to receive a dial tone and
select *4 the call is now joined to the conference, repeat steps 2-4 as necessary
Group Pick Up
If your telephone is part of a grouping you can answer a
call coming into any of the phones in your group.
- Lift your handset and wait for the dial tone
- Press **3, and the call will be connected
Ring
Back When Free
If
you call an internal number that is engaged the system can automatically call
you back when the line becomes free
- If you have called a number and find it busy
- Press the Recall button to receive a dial tone and dial #1,
you will hear a long and short dialling tone to let you know that you have
connected successfully.
- Replace the handset
- When the extension becomes free your phone will give one long
continuous ring
- Pick
up your phone and the extension you dialled originally will be called. This
can also be used on no reply from an extension. The next time the extension
is used the system will call you with one long ring. Pick your phone up and
the system calls them back.
Forwarding Your Phone To Another Number
- Pick up your handset and dial #9 followed by the number to
which you wish your calls to be forwarded (to forward to voicemail dial #988)
- Replace your handset
- All calls will now be forwarded
- When you want to receive calls at your number
- Lift the handset and dial ##9
