Who we are

The Volunteer Centre aims to: establish and improve links between LSE and local communities in London, and provide LSE students, alumni and staff with a variety of volunteering opportunities.

Whether you are looking for help with one-day events, short term project or on a regular basis,  we would like to hear from you.

The LSE Volunteer Centre is based within the LSE Careers Service. To find out more about advertising paid positions, attending careers fairs and delivering skills sessions, please visit the Careers Service website.

What we do

The Volunteer Centre receives requests for volunteers and disseminates it among student and staff through the Volunteer Centre website (internal only) and through an electronic newsletter.

In addition, the Volunteer Centre also runs a Community Partnership Program,  which consist of short-term structured project, aimed at Masters Degree students. This program is suitable for organisations looking at carrying out an evaluation exercise, service needs analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and other research and surveys which are often outside the capacity of voluntary and community organisations.  For more information on the Community Partnership Program, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator.

If your organisation is involved with national or international volunteering, we may be able to display a link to your volunteering page. Please send us any information you may have via e-mail or any promotional material to the address below.
 

How to advertise your positions with us

While we can't guarantee to provide you with volunteers, please contact us about your volunteering opportunities as we are always keen to find new projects to work with.

You will need to complete a volunteer request form to tell us about your organisation and a task description form for each different volunteering role you would like to recruit for. These forms are available here:

Advertising volunteer positions is free of charge. However, we expect all partner organisations to let us know when they recruit a LSE student or staff.
