We have a range of current research activity which will be supplemented by new initiatives. The research interests of the URC meshes with, and enhance, those of already existing research agendas at LSE as evidenced by the following:

A research and consultancy group developing practical programmes of action and training for residents of poor neighbourhoods

A centre of research excellence on the economic and social issues of the London region, as well as the problems and possibilities of other urban and metropolitan regions

LSE Urban Economics Group
An informal mechanism for encouraging cooperation in terms of teaching, seminars and other research activities 

The Resurgent City
A Leverhulme-funded international symposium which took place at LSE from 19-21 April 2004

A worldwide series of conferences investigating the future of cities

UrbEUROPE
A research and training network involving the urban dimension of Europe
