Introduction
Pathways to Law has been running successfully at the University of Edinburgh since 2001. Thanks to generous funding from The College of Law and The Sutton Trust, it is now a national programme that is running at five universities around the country. LSE will be running the project for students in the London region.

About the project
Pathways to Law aims to give students and their families the information, advice and guidance they need to succeed in a career in law. Students join the programme at the end of Year 11 and carry on until the end of Year 13. During that time they will be invited to law taster sessions, careers information events, university advice sessions and mock trials. Pathways to Law students will also get the opportunity to go on a law work shadowing (during a half term break) and will be given a law mentor to answer any queries they may have.

Eligibility
We have 50 places to offer students in London. As places are limited, they will be allocated based on the information given by students on the application form. We are looking for students who:

  • are predicted to gain mostly A*, A and B grades at GCSE
  • have a keen interest in law
  • have little or no family history of higher education
  • are enthusiastic and willing to commit to the programme
  • are studying at a comprehensive school in London.
