Northumberland House

Picture of Paul Kelly

Welcome to Northumberland House, the newest of the LSE’s halls of residence located in grand Victorian building in the  heart of London, only a minute’s walk from Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery. It is two minutes from Soho, and Covent Garden with restaurants, bars, theatres, cinemas and clubs nearby. It is also just a short walk along the Strand to the LSE. Northumberland House offers rooms to both undergraduates and postgraduates and is self-catering.

As Warden I will be assisted by a team of three experienced sub-wardens, who with the student committee and the hall staff will endeavour to make your stay at Northumberland House and LSE an enjoyable and productive one.

I am sure that your time as a member of the Northumberland House  community will add to your experience of studying at a world class University in the heart of one of the world’s greatest cities.

Professor Paul Kelly (Warden)

As with any major city, central London can be a dangerous place and so we urge you to read the LSE Staying Safe (PDF) booklet, copies of which can be found at reception. We are constantly looking at ways to improve your safety. Please ensure you keep your room doors locked and make sure that the entrance doors are closed after you, and report any suspicious occurrences to security.
