Research students
These pages are for current LSE research students only; if you are an applicant you should contact Graduate Admissions .
You can contact the Research Degrees office at: researchdegrees@lse.ac.uk, by telephoning 020 7955 7761 or 7153 or by visiting us. Our office is on the sixth floor of Tower 2, where you can come to see us whenever you like during normal opening hours (though the best time is between 10:00 and 16:30) if you want advice or information or have a problem you would like to discuss. Access to the office for students with disabilities is possible but a little tricky; if you use a wheelchair you might find it easier to ring us first.
If you have any comments (positive or negative) on the service provided by the office or suggestions on how it might be improved, including additions to these web pages, please e-mail us at: researchdegrees@lse.ac.uk.

LSE degree-awarding powers
From the academic year 2007/08 LSE will exercise its own degree-awarding powers. This will mean that all students registered from October 2007 will be awarded an LSE degree, not a University of London degree. Students registered before October 2007 who enter for their PhD examination from 1 October 2007 will be asked to state on their entry form whether they want to receive an LSE or a University of London degree. Candidates who enter before 1 October will receive a University of London award.
