The LSE Research Policy Team is based within the Research and Project Development Division. The team is responsible for ensuring that the School maintains the highest standards in its research activity, and strives to ensure that research opportunities are disseminated widely across the School. The work of the team involves the following:
RAE and beyond In conjunction with the RAE Strategy Committee, the Policy Team has had responsibility for ensuring that the School delivered the optimal submission to the RAE 2008. The Team is working closely with academic colleagues regarding the replacement to the RAE the Research Excellence Framework.
Research Committee amongst other things, the Committee is responsible for administering seed funds, monitoring research activity across the School, and reviewing Research Centres.
Research Ethics through the Research Ethics Committee, the Team ensures that the School upholds a high level of scrutiny for research projects requiring ethical consideration.
RPDD Research e-briefing in liaison with the Press Office, the Team produces an electronic briefing each month. The briefing is intended to inform all academic colleagues of latest research funding news, funding opportunities, and research outcomes.
RPDD website the website is updated on a regular basis its most important function is to inform staff of the availability of new funding, but it also serves as an up-to-date news bulletin and a point of reference for research procedures.
Liaison with RPDD Pre-award team where submission of applications requires, for a variety of reasons, the formal approval of the Chair of Research Committee.
