Dermot Hodson was awarded the 1st annual UACES Best PhD Thesis prize in September 2005 for his study of 'Economic Governance and the Dual Outcome in Euro Area Fiscal Policy 1999-2002'
Emma Haddad was awarded the 8th annual BISA PhD Thesis Prize in December 2004 for her study of 'The Individual Between Sovereigns: The Refugee in International Society'.

Anne Corbett- deputy chair of the British section of the Franco-British Council and visiting fellow at LSE, has been awarded the French state decoration for services to French culture - the Ordre des Palmes Académiques.
