Appointing hourly-paid and casual staff

The following pages provide guidance and advice on appointing hourly-paid support staff, hourly-paid researchers, graduate teaching assistants and guest teachers and casual staff.

Hourly-paid staff

From January 2008, people wishing to employ hourly paid staff (hourly support, hourly research, or GT/GTAs) will need to submit contracts to HR by the contract deadline, as per the payroll deadlines.

HR will then email the hourly-paid employee to request that they visit HR Division, W100, to sign their contract and produce relevant details / documentation by the existing payroll deadline in order to be paid in that month.
