Introduction

St Philips Medical Centre is an NHS general practice staffed by doctors and nurses who provide primary medical and nursing care to registered patients and anyone who becomes ill or requires medical advice whilst within the LSE campus.

The medical centre is open Monday - Friday between 09.00 - 17.00.

Appointments

Routine appointments to see any of the health professionals who work at the centre, ie, doctors (GP's), nurses, counsellors, gynaecologist, osteopath, massage therapist, can be made by coming in to the medical centre or over the telephone (020 7955 7016). Please let us know if you are unable to attend an appointment that you have booked as we may be able to offer it to another patient who needs it.

Urgent clinics

Clinics for urgent medical appointments are held at 11.00am & 3.00 pm, each day Monday - Friday. If you have an urgent problem that needs attention that day, please come to the medical centre just before the clinic starts to book yourself in.

Emergency care when the medical centre is open

If you need medical advice or assistance immediately, please come to the health centre or telephone us on 020 7955 7016. You will be able to speak to an on-call doctor/nurse who will advise you what to do.

If you experience or witness a significant underlying medical emergency or accident that will require hospital treatment, you should phone 999 for an ambulance immediately. If in doubt, please contact the medical centre on 020 7955 7016 and ask for advice regarding a medical emergency.

Emergency care out-of-hours

If you are registered patient at the medical centre, telephone 020 7955 7016 to access medical advice and treatment. This service is available to registered patients and those who fall in or require urgent medical advice whilst within the LSE campus, or its environs. See map of local residence practice area.

If you are not a registered patient at the medical centre and live outside the area shown in the map and require urgent medical advice and treatment, you must contact the nearest NHS general practice to where you live. Alternatively, you can contact NHS Direct on 08454647 and speak to a nurse who will advise you on what to do or see their Website at www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk.
