Terms of reference
1. To have strategic oversight of LSE owned journals from an intellectual and financial perspective with the following aims:-
a. that LSE journals should be at the leading edge of social sciences and of high international academic standing. b. that LSE journals should be self-financing and optimally generate a surplus for the purposes of further research.
2. In pursuance of 1 above, the JSC has responsibility:- a. to work strategically with editors of LSE journals to maintain and develop the academic quality of the journals. b. to oversee the financial basis of the publication of LSE journals. c. to recommend and oversee the allocation of any available surpluses on behalf of the APB. d. to receive reports on activities relating to the allocation of surpluses for review on behalf of the APB. e to consider proposals for new LSE journals. f. to oversee the development of new LSE journals. 3. To report to the Ancillary Programmes Board in the context of its overall strategic responsibility for the journals as set out in its remit. ^
