Building on the substantial body of research that already exists at LSE in the area of human rights, the Centre brings together academics and practitioners from a wide range of disciplines and backgrounds for the integrated study of human rights. The Centre has a uniquely interdisciplinary focus and works both to foster research across a range of disciplines and to contribute a human rights perspective to research being conducted in other LSE departments.
The Centre's research programme aims to facilitate concentrated inquiry into topical questions of human rights theory, policy and practice. Not only academics and students but also human rights activists and practitioners share in the research work of the Centre, creating a vibrant forum for the pooling of both academic knowledge and experiences from the field.
