Health and safety

LSE is generally a low risk environment. These pages give information on measures we are taking to ensure the health, safety and welfare of everyone who works, studies or visits the premises or may be affected by the activities of the School.

Our safety policy sets out the School's aims and objectives with regard to safety, and the responsibilities of individuals at all levels for health and safety. The Arrangements section identifies the arrangements and procedures for implementing the policy. These are continually reviewed, updated and expanded.

The School employs a small Health and Safety Team to give advice and support, and assist with developing and implementing preventative and protective measures.  The Team is led by Ann O'Brien (ann.o'brien@lse.ac.uk) the Head of  Health and Safety.

Lisa von Schlippe E.Von-Schlippe@lse.ac.uk Health & Safety Officer is the other member of the Health and Safety Team and can be contacted on ext. 3638.  The Health and Safety Team are based in the Planning & Corporate Policy Division in room U1006 on 10th Floor Tower One.

  • Health and safety impact upon everything we do at the School, from the premises and equipment we use (eg fire safety) to the way we work and study (eg using computers). Everyone, whether students, staff or visitors, has a role in ensuring that the School remains a safe environment.
