"Libya: climate change policies and environmental sustainability" by Robert Goodland, Ecologist and Environmental adviser, World Bank Group 1978-2001.
Libya's challenge is to allocate oil revenues into fuelling desalination and fossil-water pumping with solar electricity as soon as possible. Libya could export sustainable solar electricity throughout Europe. Libya has to become sustainable before signing treaties keeping oil in the ground, or before its oil is depleted, whichever comes first. His book entitled "Green Libya" on how Libya can become environmentally sustainable will be published soon. It addresses conservation of water, renewable energy and environmental sustainability issues.Additional seminar:
