New Academic Building - Operational Opening

The New Academic Building went live at 18:00hrs on Friday 19th September.  Since that time departments have moved into the new flagship building and the Estates Division has begun the task of running the building.

The building will be formally opened by Her Majesty the Queen.  Updates on this special occasion will be published shortly.

Michael Cullen

Michael Cullen has joined the Estates Division as the New Academic Building Facilities Coordinator.  Michael has a solid facilities background and will perform an integral role in ensuring the smooth running of the NAB.

Retirement of Harry Edwards

Harry Edwards, one of the best known faces at the LSE, has retired following the successful completion of the New Academic Building departmental moves. 

Harry was given a royal send-off at the conference suite in the NAB which was well attended by colleagues from across the whole spectrum of staff and academics.  Harry was presented with a number of gifts including a novel Bus Stop sign (an in-house joke). 

Harry will be sorely missed within the division and everyone wishes him all the best in his retirement.

Director of Estates

Chris Higgins has been asked to stay on as Director of Estates and has kindly agreed to do so for another year.  This is good news for the division and provides welcome continuity during a period of considerable change.
