The department was established in LSE’s Geography department as a Cartography service. In 2000 the department was renamed the Design Unit as the type of work had become predominantly design work, although cartography services still remain. The department is now within Communications (part of the External Relations Division) together with the Press and information Office, Photography and Web Services. The creative team are able to work on a wide variety of materials from Annual Reports and the Schools prospectus to detailed cartographic work and the design of exhibitions/displays. We produce an extensive range of design materials and official publications for the School including:
