Regulatory competition and board insulation: Lessons the UK should not learn from the US
Professor Lucian A. Bebchuck (Harvard Law School)
Chair: Howard Davies (LSE)
Discussant: Paul Davies (LSE)

Professor Bebchuck will discuss what lessons the UK (and Europe more generally) should learn from the US. He will discuss some of his and others' research concerning the effects that regulatory competition and board insulation have had in the US corporate system. He will suggest that the UK should view the US approach in these key areas a one that should be avoided rather than followed.
