Careers resources
Our Careers Library contains up-to-date information to help you identify and explore appropriate opportunities open to you while you are here at LSE and when you leave - it is never too early to start planning your future.
The Information Desk is situated in the Careers Library and is staffed by Information Specialists who will usually be your first point of contact in the Careers Service. They will be able to answer your general questions and any careers information enquiries. Our Information Specialists are always on hand to point you in the right direction, and will be happy talk to you about the range of resources and services offered by the Careers Service to best suit your needs.
Our well stocked library contains lots of reference information to help you through all stages of career planning, including resources covering the following areas:

Getting started - information to help you make that first move in career planning. Find out about yourself, occupations, making decisions and taking action. You can also explore what previous graduates from your degree have gone on to do.

Occupational information - files and books on a comprehensive range of occupations and sectors

Employers - employer directories and individual reference files on key graduate recruiters from a range of sectors

Work experience and internships - information on how to find internships and other forms of work experience, including volunteering opportunities.

Job search skills and the recruitment process - includes books on job search, CVs, interviews, case studies, psychometric tests and assessment centres

Further study - information on postgraduate study options and funding

Working and studying abroad - information on working and studying abroad in over 50 counties
Although most of our resources are for reference use only, we do have an area just outside the Careers Library containing a vast range of takeaway information. Popular takeaway information which you can pick up for free includes:
- Careers Service brochure
- Employer directories
- Sector guides
- Getting started - a series of sheets produced by LSE Careers Service to help you get started in a range of sectors
- What do LSE graduates do? - a series of sheets produced by LSE Careers Service to give you an idea about what previous graduates from your degree have gone on to do
- Careers Group leaflets - a series of leaflets covering a range of topics such as job hunting, writing a CV and interviews.
In addition to the extensive range of information contained within the Careers Library, our facilities also include:
- A reception desk staffed by an information specialist who is always on hand to point you in the right direction
- An ICT suite comprising 6 PCs that can be used for careers purposes
- Photocopying and printing facilities
- TV and video
