11 July. Chinas finance houses vie to lure workers
PwC, the professional services firm, launched a worldwide programme to recruit overseas Chinese with international experiences late last year. The initiative aims to attract both graduates and experienced staff. The firm has placed four managers in London, New York, Los Angeles and Sydney to work with top universities, such as the London School of Economics and Political Science, the University of California, Berkeley and New York University. The aim is to lure Chinese graduates home.

11 April Trading Markets, USA Singapore PM praises development of China's knowledge economy Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong praised on Friday the development of the knowledge- based economy in China, saying the growing scientific and technological prowess of China is an important factor in its economic takeoff. He made the remarks at a one-day forum organized by the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). The Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh said here today that the international community should consider creating financial mechanisms that will promote environment friendly technologies, transfer of such technologies to developing countries and promote environmentally sustainable development to deal with the challenge of Global Warming and Climate Change.
