Music Practice Room

The Music Practice Room (MPR) is located in the Shaw Library, Main Building.  It contains various musical instruments for students and staff to use, whether it's for pleasure or for practice towards a performance.

If you are interested in using the MPR you need to be a member of the LSESU Music Society.  If you are not a member, you cannot book the MPR for music practice.  Please note: there are a number of rules to consider when booking/using the MPR.

If you are a member of the LSESU Music Society and would like to be set up to book the MPR you need to send the following details to music-subscription@lse.ac.uk -

1. your name
2. your student or staff ID number
3. your department name
4. your email address

You will then be set up to make MPR bookings through 'Room Bookings' on LSE4U. 

MPR Booking Rules

1. Any bookings for the room need to be made online at least 24 hours in advance of the booking
   
    
2. LSESU Music Society members may not book the room for longer than one hour per session. You are limited to one session per day. You cannot book the room more than two weeks in advance. (this does not include the LSESU Music Society Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer)
   
    
3. The person who has the room booked needs to obtain the key from the Main Reception in the Old Building, while in possession of the key it is that persons' responsibility for any of the equipment in the MPR. The key must be returned promptly at the end of the session (unless someone has the room booked directly afterwards, in which case the key will be passed onto that person). If the person who has the room booked after you does not show up after you, the key must be taken back to the Main Reception of the Old Building. The room MUST NOT be left unlocked.
   
    
4. A notice will be posted on the music practice room door everyday so that you can see who has the room booked and at what times that day.
   
    
5. Food or drink is not to be left in the room.  The room must be left in a tidy and orderly fashion.  Smoking is NOT allowed in the MPR.

Any person/s found not abiding by these rules may have their MPR booking privileges taken away.
