Funding for arts projects

The Arts Advisory Group has a limited amount of funding for arts and music at the School. To make an application please send a proposal detailing your plans to Richard Hylton at arts@lse.ac.uk. A proposal should contain as much detail as possible, including:

• a detailed description of the event or project envisioned;
• the objective/ rationale behind plans;
• target audience;
• expected benefits to the School;
• the key people involved;
• timings (when you want the event to take place, duration etc); and
• whether and how it links in with academic agendas/ topical issues.

All proposals will be assessed against certain key institutional objectives, the intrinsic merit of the work and other criteria linking to the academic values and activity here at the School. Proposals should also show logistical and financial practicability.

Alternatively, you could consider:

• charging entry for your event;
• holding the event in conjunction with another that already has funding; or
• finding external sponsors for art and music activities (see Sponsorship).
