When to apply and financial assistance
Please go to the LSE Graduate Admissions page, where you can find out about the application process, the application form itself, and information about financial assistance. Alternatively, you can request a printed copy of the application and prospectus from the Graduate Admissions office at the following address:
Graduate Admissions London School of Economics and Political Science PO Box 13420 Houghton Street London WC2A 2AE United Kingdom
You are strongly advised to submit your application as soon as possible, preferably by November. Applications will however be accepted until our programmes are fully subscribed. The availability of programmes in the School can be checked on the Availability of Programmes 2007/8 page.
As far as financial assistance is concerned, the School offers a number of small awards that are made at the time of the admissions offer. These awards are allocated purely on the basis of academic merit. If an applicant is successful in securing one of these awards, s/he can also apply for financial help from the School, strictly on the basis of financial need. There are also a number of named Studentships. For further information please visit the LSE Financial Support Office page.
Are there any language requirements?
With respect to language requirements, applicants whose first language is not English, or who have not been educated to degree level in English, are required to demonstrate their command of the language by taking either the International English Language Test (IELTS) or the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). During the 2002/03 application season, the minimum requirement for the LSE was a score of 6.5 in IELTS or 603 (written test) / 250 (computer test) in TOEFL. These requirements are unlikely to change dramatically for the coming season.
Do I need GRE scores?
