The University of Southern California (USC), in the heart of Los Angeles, is a major force in the academic world both nationally and internationally.

USC has become world-renowned in the fields of communication and multimedia technologies, has received national acclaim for its innovative community outreach programmes and has solidified its status as one of the leading research universities in the United States. With a student body of 33,000 students in 2005/2006, it is a global institution, attracting more international students over the years than any other American university.

Annenberg School for Communication

In 2003 LSE's Department for Media and Communication and USC Annenberg School for Communication joined forces to offer a new and unique double masters programme in Global Media and Communications. Students spend the first year at LSE and the second year at Annenberg. Graduates will obtain an MSc from LSE and an MA from the Annenberg School for Communication, University of Southern California, Los Angeles.

In 2005 LSE's Law Department and USC Law School introduced a dual degree programme allowing students to study two years at the LSE followed by two years of study at USC Law School. On the successful completion of the four years of study, dual degree programme participants will receive the (J.D) from USC and the (LL.B) from the University of London.
