The Third Sector European Policy (TSEP) network brings together leading third sector and public policy researchers to initiate analysis of the development of European policy towards voluntary, nonprofit, NGOs or social economy organisations - referred to by some commentators as 'organised civil society'.
The outcomes of the research have been:
events and workshops for policy makers and members of third sector communities across Europe
presentations and reports from the workshops
a set of working papers.
TSEP research activity ceased to be based at the Centre for Civil Society at the end of 2005, when European Commission funding came to an end. The TSEP network's co-ordinator, Jeremy Kendall, remains an associate of the LSE, but since January 2006 has been based at the School of Sociology, Social Policy and Social Research (SSPSSR) at the University of Kent, Canterbury. See: Further research.
