Ten top tips/regulations/rules
What we will/will not fund, as reviewed and agreed by the Learn for You Steering Committee:
- Please note that from Monday, 7 April 2008 the Learn for You scheme will only be available to LSE staff whose primary role at LSE is as a member of staff. This recognises the scheme's establishment as an employee development and assistance programme offering lifelong learning opportunities
- The scheme will only pay for structured courses/programmes with a identifiable learning outcome.
- The scheme will only pay for courses that are completely unrelated to the applicant's current job/role at LSE.
- The scheme will only pay a maximum of £165 in any one academic year.
- To qualify, your primary role at LSE must be as a member of staff and you must earn no more than £30,343 per year [equivalent to the top of standard band 5].
- New members of staff at LSE are eligible right from the start.
- The scheme will not fund videos, books, magazine subscriptions, accommodation, subsistence, travel and other expenses related to a course.
- The scheme will only pay the course fees and any associated exams.
- The scheme cannot reimburse individuals, if you have already paid for a course the Learn for You scheme will not be able to refund you.
- Staff are eligible to apply from the moment they start work at LSE.
