General overview
IBSS is an essential
tool for political scientists, because it includes bibliographic records for
the articles and reviews from more than 730 current politics journals
as well as for books and selected chapters from multi-authored books.
Of the IBSS database's 2,680,000 references 716,000 are
politics records, which makes IBSS one of the most comprehensive online
databases for politics. What
also sets IBSS apart is its coverage of historical material with records
dating back to 1951 - for political scientists this means that in addition
to the 730 current politics journals being indexed, IBSS also
contains records from a further 260 journals which are no longer
being published.
