Energy, Water and Environment Community (EWE) programme

The Energy, Water and Environment Community (EWE) programme focuses on environmental cooperation and integration around the interconnected issues of water, energy and environment in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Based on the environmental interdependencies and shared interests that arise from growing water resource and energy needs in the MENA region, EWE’s model for international security engages specialists and policymakers in collaborative, multinational pursuits for environmental security. This model involves focusing on integrated trans-border and regional level institutional governance structures appropriate for the region and advancing the political processes that render them effective.
