Centre for International Studies

Facilities of the CIS

The Centre is housed in Room Q501 in Sheffield Street. Its room is fully equipped with telephones, computers, printers, photocopier and fax machine. Fellows have reading and borrowing rights in the British Library of Political and Economic Science and membership of the Senior Common Room. They may attend the public lecture programme at the LSE and, by arrangements, participate in seminars that interest them.

No formal obligations are imposed on Visiting Fellows but they are expected to play some part in the intellectual life of the School especially through giving guest lectures and seminars and allowing relevant research students to consult them. They are also expected to provide evidence of publications and how their stay at the Centre has facilitated this.

Note that the Centre has no research income of its own. The Fellowships carry no emolument and applicants are expected to have arranged their own sources of finance before applying. Visiting Fellows are also responsible for organising their own living accommodation.
