Visiting BIOS
The LSE only has limited opportunities for scholars of repute to visit the School. In the BIOS Centre, the Centre's Directorate considers all applications for Visiting Appointments of Fellows, and visiting research students, and can only recommend affiliation to the School. We can only consider requests from individuals who are working in one of the research priority areas of the Centre (see Research) and who have a sponsor in the Centre with whom they intend to work. Further, because of constraints on space and other resources, we are unable to meet many requests for visiting attachments to the BIOS Centre.
If you wish to apply, you must first contact a potential sponsor and ask them to provide a letter of support, supplying a full c.v. and an outline of the programme of work you wish to undertake while at the School.

There are a number of different visiting schemes within the School. Visiting academics are invited to participate in the teaching and research activities of the Centre, in accordance with agreements to be made with the Director of the Centre. The appointments are without emolument

There is a fee for Visiting Research Students, payable in full on arrival. For current fees please see LSE Table of Fees. ^
