The AV Support Team forms part of the Teaching and Learning Spaces Service, providing support for teaching rooms and lecture theatres in and around LSE. We also cover public lectures, large scale events and meetings taking place on campus.

Equipment available

From data projectors to visualisers, the Teaching and Learning Spaces Service supplies a wide range of audio-visual equipment for the LSE community. Please note, however, that we do not supply equipment to be taken off campus, or for external organisations.

All teaching rooms have either an OHP, or a visualiser as standard. Should you wish to check the equipment available in your teaching room or lecture theatre, please click here, and select the building and room.

To request equipment, please use the online request form.

Video conferencing

Video conferencing allows you to participate in a meeting or conference anywhere in the world without the time and cost restrictions of attending in person, thereby enabling you to manage time and cost more efficiently. We have a dual-display setup, allowing you to participate in your conference, and view yours, or your counterpart's presentation materials.

The video conferencing unit is also linked to U8 meaning that whole lectures can be broadcast or alternatively an external presentation can be shown within the 160 seat lecture theatre. Given LSE’s strong relationships with higher education institutions and other organisations both in the UK and internationally, we see this facility as a chance to develop new ways of linking with academic and business partners, including inter-site courses and remote real-time lectures. Video conferencing is also an environmentally-friendly alternative to travelling to meetings offsite.

If you would like to view our facilities, or have a brief demonstration, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Guidelines for student events

All equipment needs to be booked at least 72 hours before the event and is subject to availability - the more notice the better. During out-of-office hours, it can be made available for collection from Main Reception and should be returned there. We provide all associated cables and stands. AV support is only available between the office hours of 09.00-17.00 unless via special arrangement (may require funding.) All booked equipment is your responsibility, so please ensure you treat it carefully and return it in a timely fashion.

Full guidelines on projection and audio facilities are available (Word document).
